On December 25th a group of family and friends gathered at one of Jimmy's favorite places, a surf break called Toiny.

A passage from a poem called 'Le Voilier' was read on the beach followed by a paddle out - 'a ritual that embraces the temporality of an individual life amongst family, friends and community within the timelessness and eternity of the ocean'

You can also make your own Memorial wristbands from www.24hourwristbands.com I use this site for my Son's Memorial wristbands. They're good quality and not too expensive.

Parrot Head Reef: IN MEMORY OF THE LIFE AND MUSIC OF JIMMY BUFFETT, COMING SOON!

The Parrot Head Reef project is on track to be dedicated this year during the Labor Day Weekend 2026! If you haven't gotten on board yet, there is still time. You can make a contribution as an individual club, group of clubs, region, or even by yourself. Someday there will also be the opportunity to add your own cremains to the reef. This is an amazing way to celebrate Jimmy, his music, and to help rebuild our fragile reefs right off the coast of Key West!

NOTE: This is the ONLY sanctioned and recognized Parrot Head Reef being built!

WHAT IS A REEF BALL?

Reef balls are the designed materials that Eternal Reefs uses for memorialization. Collectively, the Reef Ball family of companies is known as the foremost experienced reef builders in the world and our award-winning work is the gold standard for designed artificial reefs. Reef Innovations works with the Reef Ball Foundation worldwide, establishing new habitat for fish and other sea life. The entire Reef Ball family of companies is committed to preserving, protecting and enhancing the marine environment for future generations.

WHAT IS THE PARROT HEAD REEF?

Eternal Reefs has partnered with Parrot Heads in Paradise to fund and create a Parrot Head Memorial Reef in memory of the life and music of Jimmy Buffet. Clubs are encouraged to collectively purchase a reef in his honor and design a memorial plaque to

be included on the reef. Members and non-members can make individual contributions that will be aggregated to fund additional reefs for the reef site. The initial placement of the PHiP Memorial Reef will NOT include any cremated remains. Eternal Reefs has future plans calling for the inclusion of cremated remains on the same reef site. 100% of the funds raised will be used for the design and construction of the PHiP reef site.

Keep your eyes and ears open for Labor Day activity in Key West as this project gets ready to be on display and then added to our reefs as we keep the party going!

Dear Parrot Heads in Paradise Family,

I hope this message finds you well.

As Director of Communications for Parrot Heads in Paradise, I am working with the Board to evaluate and improve how we communicate with our membership across all platforms. As our organization continues to grow, so does the need for more structured, consistent, and well-supported communications.

To help us revamp and better organize our communications, we are seeking volunteers or individuals with experience in IT support and/or Social Media management who are willing to assist at the organizational level.

These roles will work closely together, as many of the responsibilities overlap. Below are examples of tasks and skills that would be helpful in both areas:

Common Responsibilities (IT & Social Media Support):

Helping organize and streamline digital communication platforms (email systems, websites, social media, shared tools)

Assisting with platform setup, permissions, and access management

Supporting consistent branding and messaging across all digital channels

Troubleshooting basic technical issues related to online tools and platforms

Recommending tools or best practices to improve communication efficiency

Assisting with content scheduling, posting workflows, and automation where appropriate

Helping maintain documentation and basic training guides for leaders and volunteers

Ensuring communications are timely, accessible, and member-focused

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of how Parrot Heads in Paradise connects, shares information, and supports its members. Whether you have professional experience, volunteer experience, or simply a strong skill set and willingness to help, we would love to hear from you.

🎶 VIP Pool Deck Music Update 🎶

Due to strong winds today, we’re moving the VIP pool deck music to the 6th floor.

You can still head to the 7th floor, but you’ll need to take the stairs down one level to reach the new location. If you have mobility issues and cannot do the stairs, let the staff person know when you exit the elevator. They will escort you through the condo below.

We’re Parrot Heads—we ride the waves and make rum punch out of Kool-Aid! 🦜🍹
